Handwriting Boost is a standalone app for modelling letter formation and creating handwriting practice. Choose a school style, make activities with your own words, present them and print practice sheets.
Who is it for?
Individual teachers, families and schools. It is especially useful for Prep, Foundation, Kindergarten and Year 1 learners beginning to form letters, and for older learners who need more handwriting practice.
Which handwriting styles can I use?
The app includes Australian handwriting styles for Queensland, NSW and ACT, Victoria, WA and NT, South Australia, and Tasmania, with beginner and cursive options. The preview on this page shows the five beginner fonts. Choose the style used by your school.
Do children write on a screen?
The screen demonstrates letter formation. Children can then practise with pencil and paper using printable activities. You can choose tracing, copying or independent practice in the app.
Can I use my own words?
Yes. Make activities with names, classroom vocabulary and short sentences. Choose a handwriting style, line size and practice level, then save, present, print or share the activity.
Does Handwriting Boost use AI?
No. Handwriting Boost uses prepared letter-formation paths and handwriting fonts. It models letters and creates practice activities; it does not generate writing or assess a child’s work with AI.
Is Handwriting Boost free?
Yes. Home and individual teacher workspaces are free, with no subscription or payment method required. Shared school workspaces are arranged separately: contact us with your school’s requirements.
Can I use the free version with my class?
Yes. Individual teachers can use Handwriting Boost free with their classes, including modelling, saved activities, printing and sharing practice. You only need to contact us if you want a shared workspace across your school.
What support is included?
Free access is self-service, with a getting started guide and searchable help centre. You can report a problem by email, but personal training, setup calls and guaranteed response times are not included. School setup and support are agreed before proceeding.
