1. About these terms
These terms apply to the Handwriting Boost public website, app at app.handwritingboost.com, account-free lessons, workspaces, practice links and printable materials provided by Letts Learn Pty Ltd (ABN 77 683 713 028), Queensland, Australia.
An adult accepts these terms by creating an account or using the service. A school or organisation’s accepted written order or service agreement applies alongside these terms. Specifically agreed terms take priority if there is a conflict, subject to rights that cannot be excluded by law.
Our Privacy policy explains how information is handled.
2. The service and its educational scope
Handwriting Boost helps adults prepare handwriting models, saved activities, printable practice and links for children. Adults choose the content, handwriting style, practice level, learners, workspace members and sharing method.
A learner may mark an assigned lesson as practised. This is a self-report, not a handwriting assessment or proof of who used a link. Handwriting Boost does not automatically assess a child’s physical writing or promise a particular educational result.
The app’s Help information describes supported characters, styles, models and devices. Regional handwriting labels describe the available styles and do not imply education-department endorsement. Adults should check models and stroke directions against their school or teaching approach and use their judgement about what is suitable for each learner.
3. Free access and school arrangements
Home and individual teacher workspaces are free, including an individual teacher’s use with their classes. No payment method is required. Free access is not a trial and does not automatically become a paid subscription.
A shared school workspace is arranged separately. Contact us with your school size, workspace requirements and support needs. Workspace access, setup, support and any fees must be agreed before proceeding. Sending an enquiry does not book a call or create a payment obligation.
For any paid school arrangement, we will present the price, inclusions, term, renewal, cancellation and refund arrangements before an authorised school representative expressly agrees to pay. These public terms do not themselves create an automatic renewal, cancellation fee or payment obligation.
4. Adult accounts, parents and schools
An account holder must be at least 18 years old, provide accurate account information and keep their sign-in method secure. Adults manage workspaces, invitations, activities, learners and sharing. Learners do not create accounts or contract directly with us.
A parent or guardian using the service at home is responsible for supervising access and having the authority needed to use a child’s information. A person acting for a school or organisation confirms that they are authorised to do so and must follow the organisation’s notices, permissions, consent requirements and policies.
Use a learner’s first name or nickname where possible. Do not add unnecessary sensitive, confidential or identifying information to learner records, activities, public links or support messages.
5. Workspace membership and shared access
Workspace owners control membership and can transfer ownership. Members must use only the workspace, learner records and functions they are authorised to access and should keep permissions current when a person’s role changes.
A published practice link is unlisted, but anyone holding it can view the published lesson. A personal learner link allows its holder to access that learner’s assignments and record participation as that learner. Keep links and printed QR codes with the intended learner and responsible adults. Replace or disable access if a link is lost or shared by mistake.
Take care on shared devices. Adults should sign out and learners should use “Switch student” when they finish.
6. Acceptable use
Use Handwriting Boost for lawful teaching, learning and related administration within the access provided to you. You must not:
- access another person’s account, workspace or learner information without authority, share credentials inappropriately, or bypass access or security controls;
- publish personal, sensitive, unlawful, abusive or infringing material, or content you do not have authority to use;
- harass another person, compromise learner safety, introduce malicious code, probe the service without written permission, or interfere with its operation;
- scrape, automate or overload the service in a way that is not expressly supported; or
- resell access, falsely imply endorsement, or commercially redistribute our software or resource library without permission.
Tell us promptly if you suspect misuse, unauthorised access or a compromised practice or learner link.
7. Your content and our materials
You retain your rights in activities and other content you provide. You give us permission to store, process, display and share that content only as needed to provide, secure and support the service and carry out your workspace and sharing choices. This does not give us ownership of your content or a right to sell learner information.
You must have the rights and permissions needed for material you enter, upload, publish or share. Other people’s material remains subject to their rights and licences.
Our software, branding, prepared formation paths, licensed fonts and original materials remain owned by us or the relevant licensors. You may use practice sheets and other outputs created through the service for lawful teaching and home practice. You may share them with the learners, families and staff involved in that practice. Ask us before selling, publicly republishing or commercially redistributing the supplied library or generated materials.
8. Availability, support and service changes
The app needs internet access and a supported browser for online lessons. Printing and saved PDFs also depend on the user’s browser, device and printer settings.
Free home and teacher access is self-service, with a getting started guide, practical resources and a searchable help centre. Users can report problems by email. Personal training and setup calls are not included, and individual replies or response times are not guaranteed. School setup, training and ongoing support are included only where agreed in the school arrangement.
We maintain and improve the service, but maintenance, network problems, security events or provider outages may interrupt access. No fixed response time or service availability guarantee applies unless we agree otherwise in writing.
We may make non-material service changes. Where practicable, we will notify affected account holders before a material change that significantly reduces current functionality, except where urgent action is needed for security, safety or law.
9. Restricting access and ending use
We may restrict affected access where reasonably necessary to protect learners, information or service security, comply with law, prevent misuse, or address a material breach of these terms. Where practical, we will explain the issue and provide an opportunity to resolve it. Urgent protective action may be taken first.
Adults can leave a workspace or delete their account, subject to transferring or deleting any workspace they own. Workspace owners can transfer ownership, export information or delete a workspace. Leaving or deleting an account does not remove shared teaching material owned by a workspace.
Deleting an activity, learner or workspace removes the corresponding live records and disables relevant online access as described in the Privacy policy. It cannot recall printed or downloaded copies held by another person.
10. Educational judgement and consumer rights
Handwriting Boost is an instructional aid. Adults remain responsible for selecting content, checking the handwriting approach, supervising learners and deciding what is appropriate in their setting.
Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, remedy or other right that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law or another applicable law.
Subject to those rights, we do not promise a particular educational outcome, uninterrupted availability, or that every model or activity will suit every learner, curriculum or device. Contact us if the service does not meet an applicable guarantee or an agreed commitment so we can investigate an appropriate resolution.
11. Changes, questions and governing law
We may update these terms and show the revision date above. We will notify affected account holders of material changes where practicable. A change to these public terms does not automatically rewrite a separate school agreement; changes to that agreement follow its own variation process and applicable law.
Please raise questions or disputes with us first so we can investigate and try to resolve them. These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia, subject to mandatory protections and jurisdiction rights that apply to you.
